About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Life Skills Tutor to join our team at the Canterbury Oast Trust. As a Life Skills Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of students with learning disabilities, helping them to gain new skills and qualifications in horticulture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate planned learning and training programs for students
  • Assess student progress and provide tailored feedback to support their development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement service-specific projects that enhance student learning and well-being
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of horticulture and practical gardening skills
  • Experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities
  • Vocational qualification in horticulture and a full UK driving license (desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including problem-solving
  • Ability to remain calm and instill confidence in students and colleagues
