Cambridge Avenue Medical Centre & Messingham surgery has twosites, our main site is Cambridge Avenue and our branch site at Messingham isapproximately 3 miles away. We have 5 GP partners, a well-established nursingand admin teams, with a practice population of 12800 patients.

The candidate will ideally have a background in Primary care or a similar NHS role, with enthusiasm and a willingness to work in afast-paced supportive environment. We are seeking a friendly, highly motivatedindividual who is committed to providing safe, high quality patient centredcare.

This is a demanding and varied role where the successful candidatewill need to be adaptable with time management and self-motivation key to therole. For those potential candidates without appropriate training, this will beprovided, and the candidate would need enthusiasm for personal development.

Main duties of the job

To support the practice managerin all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff,optimising efficiency and overall performance, ensuring the practice achieves itslong-term strategic objectives in a positive, safe and effective workingenvironment.

Through innovative ways ofworking, drive to achieve NHS targets and changes within a profitable,efficient practice environment, supporting the management team in promoting Equality,Diversity & Inclusion, Quality & Continuous improvement, Confidentiality,Collaborative Working, Service Delivery, Learning and Development, and ensurethe practice complies with CQC regulations.

About us

We are a two-site practice with 12800 patients based in BottesfordScunthorpe. We are a well-established training practice for both 3rdand 5th year HYMS medical students and trainee GP registrars.

We are part of the North Lincolnshire South PCN, which is a 6member PCN.

Comprising of 5 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs and a well-establishedand experienced nursing and admin team.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the Deputy Practice Manager. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

The Deputy Manager is responsible for:

a. Supporting the practice manager in the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.

b. Providing leadership and guidance for the administrative and reception staff

c. Ensuring staff adhere to policy and procedure at all times.

d. Complete staff 121s & appraisals

e. Line manage all administrative and reception staff.

f. Plan, implement and manage timetables for the entire clinical team.

g. Handle complaints in line with practice policy and complete annual complaints returns.

h. Log and record significant events and ensure that that lessons are learned and shared as appropriate.

i. Manage practice recruitment processes including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, DBS checks, references and on boarding.

j. Take ownership of issues and projects that do not have an existing place in the organisation.

k. Use initiative and problem-solving skills.

l. Join PPG meetings and liaise with PPG as appropriate.

m. Actively encouraging and promoting the use of patient online services

n. Maintain the practices Facebook, website & NHS choices site.

o. Manage work streams such as Mailboxes, document management, Accurx, task lists and other work to ensure it is dealt with appropriately & in a timely manner.

p. Minute & Organise practice Meetings.

q. Work with other managers and staff to ensure the smooth organisation and running of Flu, QOF & any other NHS, PCN or ICB scheme.

Secondary Responsibilities

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Deputy Practice Manager may be required to:

a. Deputise for the practice manager in their absence.

b. Support the practice manager in the reviewing and updating of practice policies and procedures.

c. Act as the communication link between the management team and staff.

d. Represent the practice locally as required.

e. Maintain a working knowledge of ICB and PCN initiatives.

f. Anything the Practice Manager or Partners reasonably request of you.

Experience

Essential
