We are currently recruiting for a Female Support Worker for a 30 hour role in our service in Thurso.

In this role, you will support a lady with Downs Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder, who lives at home with her dad. The lady we support loves music, dancing and singing and would love someone with similar interests to support her. She enjoys a daily picnic, going out on daytrips and spending time with her dad and brother, both of whom are very important to her.

The lady we support has a fear of dogs, so requires patience, compassion and reassurance from her staff. She prefers to go out into the community in the car due to her unease with dogs, so a UK driving license is essential for this role.

We provide support from 9am - 9pm from Monday to Thursday. On weekends, we provide support from 9am - 9pm, as well as a sleepover on Friday and Saturday night. All staff are required to work different shifts to ensure fairness for the team.

Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act Your values: The people we support like to be supported by people who respect and encourage them and who like to have fun

They like people who are reliable and honest, so they can build trust and know that you have their best interests at heart.
