Job Title: Guidewire Application Support Specialist 

Reporting to: Core Insurance Systems Lead 

Position Type: Permanent Hybrid working, 3 days in the office per week

Job Purpose: 

TMHCC is in the midst of an IT transformation and is shifting towards a Product-centric operating model. Alongside this a set of enterprise applications are managed by a central Component Services team – within which sits the Core Insurance Systems team.

This team covers Guidewire Developer/Support, Imageright and NewGen CMM and CCM applications. Support is provided via a hybrid model with vendors CoForge and NewGen providing a managed service or breakfix support capabilities.

As a CIS Guidewire Application Support Specialist you will report into the CIS Application Lead and add value in much more than BAU support activities. You will be in the centre of a transformation journey which is looking to reengineer the relationship with business customers, improve the value provided by vendors and become deeply integrated with other teams in Component Services and the wider IT Product and Platforms teams.

Key Responsibilities: 

Communicate regularly with business analyst to interpret, clarify, and plan for the implementation of user stories. Propose integration solutions and estimate integration effort required for user story requirements. Develop integration solutions including Batch Processes, Message Queues and Event Messaging. Develop integration solutions with 3rd party vendors. Creating new data model elements and extending the existing applications data model with new properties. Managing application configuration and performing software upgrades. Establish and execute traceable unit and integration tests (automated as to be agreed). Execute the development and ensure successful completion of assigned user stories for each sprint. Onsite-offshore coordination for resolving production incidents. Technical support for all Guidewire suite Application in production. Engage with multiple technical teams to ensure appropriate resolution of incidents, recording of resolutions and identification of bugs and defects. Develop the test cases for the given Use Cases. Unit testing and Smoke testing of the application. Deployment support. Handle the activity, synch Metadata flows from ImageRight systems through messaging. MQ messaging.

Skills and Experience Specification: 

Essential: 

ClaimCenter certified integration and developer. Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter and at least one full product implementation. GL, PL, CA and WC experience strongly preferred. Expertise in Guidewire APIs, GX Model and Product Models. Experience in GuideWirePolicyCenter/ClaimCenter and Java/J2ee programming and development. Guidewire Configuration using Studio, GScripts/GOUS andIntegration experience. Good experience in J2EEDesign Patterns Factory Pattern, Singleton, Session Facade, Service Locator, DAO. Knowledge of Guidewire integration concept: Batch Processing, Message Queues and Event Processing. Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation, and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.

Desirable: 

Demonstrable experience working in insurance, preferably specialty (non-retail) insurance and exposure to Lloyds of London markets.
