Teaching Personnel is partnering with an SEN Provision in the Plymouth area. The school are innovative providers of education and care, supporting young people aged 10-19 with complex needs, including SEMH difficulties, Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism, and other conditions.
Position: Mental Health Support Worker
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with their learning and general wellbeing, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential
- Assist with care needs
- Implement positive behavioural management strategies
- Tailor your approach to meet the individual needs of each child
- Build warm, caring, and supportive relationships with students
- Promote and encourage independence and personal development
- Support the class teacher by contributing to high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities
Ideal Candidate:
- Patient and capable of dealing with challenging circumstances or emotional behaviour
- Accepting of diverse lifestyles and understanding of mental health issues
- Calm under pressure and able to remain composed in stressful situations
- Flexible in handling behaviour that may present challenges
- Willing to undergo additional training as offered
