Job Description:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education for students in the absence of their regular teachers. You will manage classrooms, deliver pre-set lesson plans, and ensure a positive learning environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are looking to gain experience in the education sector, including recent graduates, aspiring teachers, and experienced educators seeking a flexible role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure students remain on task
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Provide support and assistance to students as needed
  • Ensure a safe and productive learning environment
  • Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate school staff

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g., youth work, coaching, mentoring)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
