Stretford, United Kingdom EMIS Group Plc Full time

Here at EMIS we are looking for an Engineering Manager to come and join us on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting time to join us as we embark on a significant journey of growth as we invest into our product portfolio. The role will see you manage a permanent team of highly skilled developers across the UK & Chennai, as well as a team of contractors based near shore.

You will be accountable for overseeing and delivering on the operational, management and leadership objectives across your teams. We want you to proactively reinforce and enable our engineering strategy, application architecture, component design as well as our engineering principles, practices, and standards.

Working for us here at EMIS, you are supporting the health of the nation, using modern technology to change the health tech landscape. We are true Tech4Good, and everyone here has an impact on the healthcare industry. So, if you want to be a part of that, then apply today

What you’ll do

It sounds cliché, but we operate in a fast paced and ever-changing environment, so if you thrive in that environment and want to be part of our ambitious growth plans then this could be the perfect role for you.

As our Engineering Manager, you will support, coach, mentor and lead a multi-skilled development team. We want you to create a culture within your teams where individuals feel empowered to take ownership and have a focus on delivering quality and excellence.

Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;

Accountability for the delivery, quality and technical approach taken by your teams to deliver on objectives. Proactively collaborate with peers and colleagues across our business to troubleshoot and resolve business critical issues. Be customer centric and adopt an understanding our customer settings and how this applies to building high quality healthcare products. Be a true technologist, driving excellence in coding standards, quality, and software design.

Who you’ll be

We need you to be an experienced People Leader of Software Development teams

Whilst the role will see you technically hands-off most of the time, you need to be able to demonstrate a sound background within software development. You will have a good understanding of C#.Net, AWS/Azure, and Agile and/or SAFe.

Your ability to develop credible and trusted relationships with peers, stakeholders and your teams will be evident, as well as your ability to influence and challenge where appropriate.

Other skills and experience we are looking for you to demonstrate include;

Able to demonstrate where you have led high performing teams. Focused on continuous improvement and engagement. Experience of working within a complex environment with competing demands. Commercially savvy. Advocate for driving quality and improving standards. Do this by keeping on top of market trends and insights.

Our Vision and Your Impact

Our vision is to be the leading provider of innovative healthcare technology that improves people’s lives. Are you interested in becoming part of that vision?

Working with our customers, we are leading the way in the delivery of patient centred, connected, digitally enabled health and care services. Our customers and partners are using our solutions in all health and care settings, from GP surgeries and community care to high street pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, not for profit organisations and specialist services. Ranked in the top five Healthtech organisations in the UK, we are committed to developing the next generation of healthcare technology that will truly make a difference.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

At EMIS, we are committed to providing an inclusive, equitable culture where people feel able to bring their whole selves to work and to reach their full potential. This is a foundation stone of EMIS, anchoring the employee cycle from recruitment through to ongoing personal development and genuine, continuous two-way employee engagement, supported by our company values which determine everything we do.

EMIS is an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or other characteristics protected by applicable law. We will always work to accommodate individual needs during your application journey. If you require any adjustments, please advise the talent team.
