About the Role:


The Technology Risk Governance Manager will be responsible for leading and managing our 1st line of defence Technology risk framework and strategy. The role will involve the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of operational and change related Technology risks, as well as ensuring the effective implementation and operation of controls. Working as part of the Technology Strategy, Planning & Risk Governance team, you will work closely with business & technology leadership to drive our risk management practices and outcomes. You will work as part of a virtual, global Technology Risk Governance team and will lead a team of Technology Risk Analysts. Your stakeholders will include Technology, Business Change Delivery, Risk, Compliance and Audit functions across our regions in LATAM, UK, Europe & APAC. In this role, you will support the Liberty International Insurance (LII) and Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re) business segments.

About the Department & Team
LII Tech comprises the technology functions supporting the LII and LM Re businesses. The Tech Strategy, Planning & Risk Governance team reports to the LII CIO, and is responsible for supporting the delivery of our strategic objectives, with a particular focus on strategy execution, planning and oversight, delivery support through PMO, financial planning and risk governance. Technology risk governance is supported via a virtual global team model with team members in the UK and APAC (Australia) working collaboratively to manage Technology risk across our regions.
This role brings an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to gain exposure to our business, work in a dynamic, multi-national environment and to help shape the technology risk landscape in a time of significant change.

Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and embed line 1 risk management framework and practices in Technology to ensure we manage risk and controls within risk appetite. Drive and uplift the risk culture within the team through regular and effective engagement. •Establish processes to identify and manage key risks and controls, including developing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and regular monitoring cadence, including testing and remediation with a goal to uplift the overall risk management capability across Technology. •Document risk acceptance and conduct regular reviews to ensure residual risks are formally accepted by risk owners, accountabilities defined and remains relevant to risk appetite. •Collaborate with Line 2 and Line 3 Risk, Compliance & Audit teams to manage all aspects of technology risk governance, compliance, and audit activities, including oversight of risk governance activities, evidence gathering, management responses and tracking of remediation activities. •As part of an integrated business unit approach, work with Line 1 from other areas of business, risk and governance teams as well as global risk teams, to ensure alignment with global frameworks and local regulations, identifying gaps where relevant. •Provide guidance, SME input and coaching to the Technology team on effective risk and control practices and play a mentoring role in maturing the team’s understanding of risk and control. •Provide risk input into key technology initiatives, specialist input into risk prioritisation discussions and the appropriateness of remediation plans. •Work with regional and global stakeholders in the development of pragmatic and appropriate technology risk framework and control libraries and identify opportunities to continuously improve our control environment. •Actively manage post incident reviews, root cause analysis, regulatory notifications, and drive process improvements to address any systemic issues. •Develop and deliver risk reporting metrics and scorecards for senior stakeholders and to escalate non-compliance to risk appetite accurately. •Stay abreast of the regulatory landscape and proactively plan for, and update, processes to remain compliant with regulatory change. •Coordination and oversight of Technology control reporting and attestation in partnership with Technology leadership across LII Tech and the broader Liberty Mutual Technology team. •Lead a team of Technology Risk Governance analysts in the delivery of team outcomes, providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members and driving the capabilities needed to meet the needs of the organisation.
