WHAT TO EXPECT
The Facility & Technology Development department (F&TD) are responsible for the design and delivery of facility components, test rigs and the infrastructure required in support of physical test plans.
You will be responsible for the planning and commissioning of multiple new test facilities, rigs and systems concurrently. This will involve leading the design, development and implementation of vehicle system, functional and safety system integration solutions across all JLRs lab-based test facilities. In addition, providing reactive support across the company to all aligned testing disciplines with any facility, rig or vehicle technical issues.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Lead the development of SHI/HIL Controls & Simulation techniques within the team. Define and develop future HIL requirements against JLR 5-year core plan. Focus on Chassis active system technology and body systems
• Lead the development of hardware and software strategy for lab-based test facilities
• Liaise with JLR teams Chassis, Body & Technology Teams within JLR Electrical Engineering on a pro-active basis, to deliver projects
• Hands-on approach to problem solving and implementation of solutions
• Generation of detailed timing plans, creation and upkeep of test logs and completion of final test reports
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• Experienced with Vector Tools – CANalyzer & CANoe (CANape also of benefit)
• Knowledge of vehicle & test communications technology – Flexray, CAN, LIN, SCRAMNet, EtherCAT
• Applied hands-on experience of Hardware-In-the-Loop solutions with working knowledge and expertise in: D-SPACE Systems (Including SCALEXIO) / Restbus Simulation / Mathworks – MATLAB & Simulink
• Experience of Rig/System commissioning, all infrastructure considerations, reporting of methods
• An understanding in an Electrical, Electronics or Controls Engineering field
