As part of our Senior Therapy Team, you will play a crucial role in upholding our standards of excellence while leading a team of Physiotherapists and Support workers in the management of respiratory patients across our surgical pathway.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior member of the therapy team your role will be challenging and varied. Holding operational and leadership responsibility for the surgical therapy team including newly qualified physiotherapists, band 6 physio's and support workers, you will work closely with the Therapy Leads to provide a high quality, effective service.

Clinically you will use your well developed skills to provide expert and skilled respiratory and rehabilitative therapy intervention to patients on Critical Care and throughout the surgical pathway. As a specialist clinician you will act as a point of contact for therapy colleagues and wider multi-disciplinary team.

The position is full-time with regular working hours Monday - Friday. As a specialist Trust we provide a 24 hour Emergency Physiotherapy Service. The successful applicant will be expected to partake in the rota on a paid overtime basis.

Qualifications

Essential

Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy. HCPC Registration. Membership of relevant clinical interest group

Desirable

Evidence of post graduate study.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

Previous experience at Band 6 level working in respiratory care. Previous experience of providing rehabilitation to patients. Experience of the supervision Evidence of participation in service development and audit.

Desirable

Previous experience at Band 7 Previous experience leading a team Non-medical prescribing Previous experience of working with cardio-thoracic surgical patients
