ASD Teaching Assistant - Secondary

Location: Gateshead, Tyne & Wear
Salary: £75 - £110 per day
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

GSL Education is looking for a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Gateshead. This role involves providing tailored support to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), fostering their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with ASD in accessing the curriculum and completing tasks.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Support students in developing social skills and building positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to create inclusive learning environments.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with ASD is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting SEN students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in autism support is advantageous.
