**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience and a passion to join our team at a school in specialist school in Gateshead. This is an exceptional school with a strong, warm and welcoming team, catering to children with a range of needs, predominantly ASD.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons for students.
- Assisting with the preparation and organisation of learning materials and resources.
- Helping to create a positive and stimulating learning environment that promotes children's development and well-being.
- Supporting children with their daily routines, such as toileting, dressing and feeding, where necessary.
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to children who require additional assistance with their learning.
- Recording and monitoring children's progress and achievements, and contributing to the assessment and reporting process.
- Building strong relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues, and communicating effectively with them.
- Attending relevant training and professional development sessions to improve your knowledge and skills.
- Undertaking other duties as required by the school.

**The requirements for this role are**:

- GCSE English & Maths
- Preferably qualified to an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with children
- Ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff
- Possess strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of classroom procedures and policies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
