We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate demand forecasts and developing supply chain strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels and customer satisfaction. The Demand Planner will work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely product availability.

What will you do on a normal day?

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using statistical analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Work with sales and marketing teams to gather market intelligence and customer insights to enhance demand planning accuracy. Monitor inventory levels and work with operations teams to develop supply chain strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels. Including providing advice for items to be phased out, changed to non stocked. Liaise closely with Supply Planners and Seniors, communicating plans and system changes that will affect ordering patterns, including holiday cover, supplier shut downs and seasonal planning. Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of products and minimize stockouts. Including building and providing forecasts where necessary. Evaluate historical sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Including advising on the stocking policy. Conduct regular reviews of inventory policies and make recommendations for changes to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess and obsolete inventory. Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Analyse and report on demand planning metrics, including forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and customer service metrics. Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product launches, promotions, and other initiatives. Conduct monthly forecast maintenance, including forecast exceptions and working through demand requests in the demand inbox.

What are we looking for?

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in demand planning or supply chain management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse large data sets and extract insights. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools, and demand planning software like Slim4. Knowledge of statistical forecasting methods and supply chain management principles. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working in the manufacturing, consumer goods, or retail industries is a plus.
