Are you ready to lead a dynamic team, shape our neighbourhoods, and drive operational excellence? As the Solicitor (Housing), also known as Legal Executive (ASB) at PA Housing, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the resident experience and fostering strong community relationships.

In this pivotal position, you will support the Head of Anti-Social Behaviour to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations within social housing.

As a dedicated professional, the Legal Executive (ASB) is responsible for managing legal aspects related to tenancy agreements, resolving disputes, and providing legal counsel to stakeholders. You will also oversee a small team of tenancy legal officers, with the primary objective of upholding tenant rights, maintaining property integrity, and mitigating legal risks.

This role focuses on driving change and service excellence, addressing failures, and conducting root cause analysis for continuous improvement. As a senior role requiring technical knowledge and experience, you will influence the strategic direction of the service based on the operational and legislative environment.

Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too

Your responsibilities...

Customer Focus:

  • Champion a customer-centric approach.
  • Lead with our resident strategy, understanding our community; proactively anticipating and addressing resident needs.
  • Cultivate stakeholder relationships to swiftly resolve issues and remove obstacles.

Operational Delivery:

  • Own outcomes within the Tenancy Legal function, ensuring compliance throughout
  • Provide expert legal guidance and support on tenancy, eviction proceedings, and enforcement matters.
  • Represent PA in legal proceedings, including eviction cases and resident disputes as needed.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Collaborate with other teams to align strategies.
  • Ensure our Residents Strategy is central to our organisational goals,
  • Shape and deliver our 'You and Your Neighbourhood' initiative, leaving your mark on our future.

Stakeholder Relationships:

  • Build strong ties with residents, community groups, authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Manage legal aspects of tenancy agreements, disputes, and counsel, whilst mediate disputes fairly among.
  • Represent PA Housing at forums and meetings.

Team Leadership:

  • Inspire, motivate, and develop your team members, promoting openness and honesty.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative environment where ideas thrive, leading by example.
  • Ensure team performance aligns with business objectives.

Performance Management:

  • Ensure officers maintain policy-aligned case management, intervening promptly to assist residents and PA.
  • Address performance or behavioural shortcomings and implement performance analysis and budget controls with input from finance and business insight teams.
