Role Overview

The role involves providing practical and social work support for children, young people, and families within Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. The post covers a designated area of work and requires handling a complex caseload, including assessments, interventions, and reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Handle complex caseloads involving children, young people, and families.
  • Assessments: Undertake thorough assessments of children and families.
  • Visits: Conduct regular visits to children and their families.
  • Interventions: Implement appropriate interventions based on best evidence and good practice.
  • Reviews: Review the work undertaken to ensure it meets the necessary standards.
  • Direct Work: Engage directly with children, young people, and families.
  • Mentoring: Offer mentoring, work-shadowing, and work experience opportunities.
  • Development: Study towards the Practice Educator qualification and post-qualifying modules.

RequirementsQualifications Required
  • Education and Certifications:
    • Degree in Social Work
    • Certified Qualification in Social Work (CQSW) / Certificate in Social Service (CSS) / Diploma in Social Work (SWSP)
    • Home Office letter of recognition
  • Professional Registration: Registered with the Health and Care Professions Care Council on the Social Care Register.
  • Post-Qualification Learning: Evidence of ongoing professional development and learning.
Experience and Skills
  • Experience with more than one client group.
  • Knowledge of Northamptonshire Children’s Trust procedures and Local Safeguarding Children Board Northamptonshire (LSCBN) procedures.
Compliance Requirements
  • DBS Level: Enhanced child only


Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration. Minimum one year’s post-qualification experience. Strong assessment, planning, and intervention skills. Excellent record-keeping and report-writing abilities. Proactive, collaborative, and able to manage a complex workload.
