We are looking for energetic and committed Nurses to join our established ophthalmology day unit.

Main duties of the job

The Ophthalmology day unit plays a vital role in a patient's surgical pathway, the ophthalmology day unit team cover a wide variety of surgical procedures, you will support in patients journey pre and post surgery, assisting in the delivery of care to meet the patient's needs to ensure a safe discharge home following surgery

Registered Nurse and Update-to-date NMC registration

Desirable

Ophthalmic Nurse Qualification teaching qualification or mentorship experience

Previous experience working in an ophthalmic setting

Skills and ability

Essential

Effective communication both written and verbal basic leadership skills Basic knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy and physiology, ophthalmic conditions, their treatments and the equipment involved.

Experience of teaching, mentorship and supervision Comprehensive understanding of ophthalmic anatomy and physiology, ophthalmic conditions, their treatments and the equipment involved.
