Our clientprovides person centred support and care for children and youngpeople between the ages of 7 and 18 years with a variety ofdifferent needs andrequirements.

TheSenior Residential Childcare officer will beresponsible for the overseeing of each shift and will provide firstline management and supervision to the Residential ChildcareOfficers on duty to ensure that children and young people withinresidence receive the best care and support possible. TheSenior RCCO will report directly to the DeputyManager & RegisteredManager.

Theperson specification/ requirements of the SeniorResidential Childcareofficer:

  • Havea minimum of 1 years experience in a Senior / Team leaderrole.
  • ResidentialChildcare experience is Desirable but Senior & Team Leaderexperience in other Health & Social Care environments willbeconsidered.
  • Holda minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or anequivalentqualification.
  • BeCommitted to achieving the best for children and youngpeople.
  • Beable to prioritise work load andduties.
  • Beexperienced in leading and delegating to the team onduty.
  • Beconfident in regard to decision making andaccountability.
  • Beable to work towards achieving the best outcomes of children andyoung people in line with the Care QualityStandards
  • Havean understanding of Care Plans Risk Assessments and completingthesedocuments.
  • Havean understanding of the Care Quality Standards and The ChildrensHomes Regulations (England)2015.
  • Beable to Safeguard and protect the wellbeing of children and youngpeople at all times and ensure that RCCOs carry out their dutiesappropriately at alltimes.
  • Workcollaboratively with other Senior RCCOs and management to ensurethe service meets the requiredstandard.
  • Bewilling to complete training asrequired.
  • Beconfident in challenging inappropriate practise and standards andhave a thorough understanding of SafeguardingProcedures.
  • Beable to communicate professionally both with staff members andprofessionals.
  • Beoutgoing caring andcompassionate.
  • Beable to advocate for the needs wishes and views of the young peopleand children we carefor.
