Job summary

The Dorset Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHSTs) are looking for a proactive, supportive, flexible and inspiring professional to join our evolving service as a Senior Supervising Practitioner.

You will already be a qualified Supervisor Practitioner with at least two years post qualification experience, and be ready to move into a management position, supporting team and service development.

The Senior Supervising Practitioner will be responsible forensuring good standards of supervision and clinical care are achieved, with a focus on service need and staff development. The role will entail overseeing the training of new Supervisor/Practitioners, in conjunction with Exeter University.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Supervising Practitioner will have delivered both clinical skills and case management supervision to Education Mental Health Practitioners/Children's Wellbeing Practitioners, and be able to evidence a clear understanding of the requirements of the training for both the EMHPs/CWPs and the Supervisor Practitioner.

You will be able to evidence a curious, flexible, child and young person centred approach and promote staff development using a reflective style. You will be confident in challenging practice when necessary in order to improve outcomes.

You will be part of the management team for the service driving forward good practice and service development, with a focus on improving standards of care through clinical leadership.

This role is pan Dorset, and you will be supporting practitioners across Dorset and BCP and will be expected to travel as part of your role.
