Role: Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: High Peak
Salary Scale: £86 to £100 per day
Start Date: January 2025

Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant with a background in delivering the primary curriculum and a passion for supporting pupils with challenging behaviours? We are looking for a resilient and adaptable individual to join our dedicated team in High Peak, starting in January 2025.

About Us:
Our High Peak site is a supportive and inclusive educational environment designed to help students achieve their full potential. With a small, close-knit team of six staff and two classrooms, we provide tailored learning experiences that support both primary and secondary pupils as needed.

The Role:
This is a varied and dynamic role requiring high resilience and adaptability. You will work closely with pupils in small groups, 1:1 settings, and occasionally off-site, including in pupils' homes, libraries, or cafes. While your primary focus will be on supporting primary pupils, you may also assist secondary students when necessary.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Curriculum Knowledge: Delivering tailored support aligned with the primary curriculum to ensure pupils make progress in their learning.
  2. Behaviour Support: Managing challenging behaviours with a calm and positive approach, fostering a safe and productive learning environment.
  3. Personalised Interventions: Providing targeted support to pupils in various settings, including off-site locations, to ensure their engagement and success.
  4. Collaboration: Working closely with a team of educators and support staff to deliver cohesive and effective teaching and support.
  5. Flexibility: Supporting both primary and secondary pupils as required, demonstrating adaptability in a varied and fast-paced setting.

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting, with strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviours and the ability to implement effective strategies to support them.
• High resilience, patience, and a commitment to making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and well-being.
• The ability to work effectively with small groups and 1:1 settings, including in off-site locations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders.

Benefits:
• A competitive daily rate of £86-£100.
• Full-time position starting in January 2025.
• Opportunities for professional development and training.
• A supportive and collaborative work environment within a dedicated team.

If you are a passionate Primary Teaching Assistant ready to provide essential support and help students overcome emotional and social challenges, we would love to hear from you

Please note: This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check.
