Main duties of the job

Responsible for the assessment of clients both adult and paediatric entering the Emergency Department, prioritisation of treatment, delivery of care and evaluation.

The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and required to demonstrate procedures and to supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.

As a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse the post holder will be overall in-charge of the department on a shift basis

Experience

Essential

Minimum of 3 years post- registration experience; at least 2 years within an Emergency Department

Desirable

Experience of contributing to research and audit programmes

Qulaifications

Essential

Registered Children's Nurse Degree (BSc) or equivalent Specialist paediatric ED or critical care course

Desirable

ATNC / TNCC
