Position Context:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager

Main tasks :

· Support the Maintenance Manager to ensure facilities are maintained in compliance with company processes and EH&S, design, and maintenance standards.

· Support the Maintenance team in planning and execution of day-to-day maintenance activities across the Middlesbrough & Billingham facilities.

· Deputise in the absence of the Maintenance Manager and Reliability & Asset Integrity Strategy Manager.

· Deputise for Maintenance Supervisor.

· Support the Engineering team in execution of growth and sustenance projects.

· Manage maintenance improvement projects.

· Assist with the development, implementation & review of site-wide maintenance programmes & procedures.

· Identify & scope opportunities for improvement within the maintenance operation, including safety, reliability, and efficiency aspects.

· Assume lead role in execution of improvement initiatives, such as condition monitoring, energy efficiency, continuous improvement, ageing plant, equipment obsolescence, etc.

· Assist in the planning & management of maintenance turnarounds.

· Assume senior role in safety related maintenance functions, such as Lifting Operations AP, Radiation Protection Supervisor, etc., where appropriate.

· Assist the Maintenance Manager with establishment & control of the maintenance budget.

· Contribute to regular QA review of service providers & suppliers performance.

· Ensure legislative compliance with relevant standards & regulations.

· Participate in Regulatory interventions.

· Member of relevant Engineering compliance teams, working to promote safety awareness, continuous improvement & Regulatory compliance.

· Develop and grow partnerships with key service providers and suppliers.

· Attend monthly EH&S meetings and ensure progress is made on assigned actions.

· Provide technical & troubleshooting support as required for breakdowns.

· Provide technical support in incident investigations and hazard reviews.

· Review and monitor compliance with safe work systems and maintenance procedures.

· Generate Capital expenditure and Management of Change requests.

· Participate in the review of Management of Change proposals.

Required skills :

· Relevant Engineering qualification such as a BSc, BEng or HND (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)

· Member of a professional institute or working towards accreditation for CEng or IEng.

· Extensive engineering experience within process manufacturing or heavy industry. Specifically, youll have experience executing engineering projects, managing contractors, and budgetary control.

· Knowledge of British and International codes and standards relevant to design and operation.

· Full UK driving license.

· Eligible to work in the UK.

· Experience of a chemical manufacturing environment and COMAH would be an advantage.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly convey technical content and adapt style to suit target audience.

· Demonstrate good organisational skills and be able to prioritise work with effective problem solving and practical outlook.

· Ability to handle multiple work projects running concurrently as the business need arises.

· Strong English verbal and writing skills.

· Good I.T. skills, including being competent in the use of Office 365, notably Excel and Word.
