We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist aspiring to pursue a career within Acute and Community Services. This is suitable for an experienced Band 5 looking to develop skills at Band 6 level or for an existing Band 6 Physiotherapist looking for greater diversity to join the Frailty Physiotherapy rotation in Portsmouth. We have a comprehensive Band 6 rotational pathway which balances the development of specialist knowledge and skills with gaining a diverse experience in a range of care settings.
The rotation covers two organisations - HIOW Healthcare Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospital University Trust.
The clinical work requires the post holder to have a broad but in-depth knowledge of the types of conditions and needs typically experienced by older people along with expert skills in improving and maintaining function in the elderly. The ideal candidate will also have experience in supervision and training of others, including students and have specialist skills in assessment and therapeutic interventions with older people.
Successful candidates will have a strong team work ethic, a sense of accountability accompanied by an ability to work under pressure at times.
The Service is covered over 7 days and you will be required to work weekends and early and late shift patterns on certain rotations.

Main duties of the job
To meet the needs of patients and their families to achieve improved health outcomes and promote health and wellbeing while demonstrating care, compassion, competence, communication, courage, and commitment. Care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity and is patient/client centred, culturally sensitive and evidence-based and which promotes independence.
Responsible for co-ordinating the work of the team, influencing clinical decisions and monitoring the quality of patient care provided through utilising and maintaining expert clinical knowledge relevant to own field of practice, underpinned by theory and expertise.
Senior Physiotherapists on the frailty rotation, rotate annually within HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. Working in the Community, at St. Mary's Community Health Campus, at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth and other units in Portsmouth including and according to service need. The post will rotate through the following areas across HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust:
Medicine for Older People - PHT
Urgent Care Team- PHT
Orthogeriatric - PHT
Community Physiotherapy - HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Inpatient Rehab - Spinnaker HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Inpatient Rehab - Summerlee Unit - HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
CRS - HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Urgent Community Response Team - HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent. Health Professions Council Registration. Portfolio evidence of information learning.
Experience
Essential
*Post registration experience as a physiotherapist. *Broad knowledge and experience through specialties as a rotational newly qualified physiotherapist. *Evidence of student or physiotherapy assistant supervision. *Significant range of relevant healthcare experience in either hospital or community setting including working autonomously. *NHS Experience. *Understand the legal responsibilities of the profession. *Ability to present information, written and orally, in a clear and logical manner. *Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate. *Understand clinical governance and its implications for services. Include experience of quality issues and audit. *Ability to recognise when to seek advice. *Ability to comprehend and work within the Trust's policies of data protection, equal opportunities, and health and safety and meet the differing needs of patients. *Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes. *Competent IT skills. *Presentation Skills. *Knowledge of Audit. *Broad knowledge and experience through Band 5 static or rotational physiotherapist roles. *Knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable adults in relation to their health and well-being and knowledge of the pathology of disease and illness processes. *Understanding and delivery of Clinical Governance requirements and demonstrate compliance.-
