Job description
Job responsibilities
Wycliffe House is a male only service which can support those with associated past or present drug and alcohol addictions. In addition to a diagnosis of a neurological condition and addiction, service users may present with cognitive impairments, communication disorders and behaviours that challenge.
Loyd House has 17 bedrooms, four of which form our transitional living unit, which is for those who are ready for more independent living. The service is close to local shops and the park, so residents can benefit from social, occupational, and educational opportunities in an ideal setting for neurorehabilitation.
Christchurch View offers a pathway from post-acute rehabilitation through to specialist community-based transitional rehabilitation. We are committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy and empowered, enabling them to live the best life possible.
Abington View is a female only service providing specialist community-based transitional neurological rehabilitation services for those who are not quite ready for supported living.
At Active Care Group, we are committed to ensuring that every individual we support feels safe, happy, and empowered to live their best life possible. With a collaborative and holistic approach to care, we work effectively in partnership with stakeholders to deliver high-quality integrated health and care services. With over 30 years of specialist knowledge and experience in managing complex conditions, including ventilation and respiratory issues, spinal injuries, brain injuries, epilepsy, neurological conditions, and learning disabilities, we are dedicated to helping individuals progress towards a more independent future.
As a Clinical Psychologist within our team, you will play a vital role in providing psychological assessment, intervention, and support to our residents. Your expertise will contribute to the holistic care approach we offer, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs. If you are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative and supportive environment, we encourage you to apply and join us in our mission to help individuals lead their best lives
What you'll be working:
Our standard working hours for this role are 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with days and times to be agreed. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.
What you'll be doing:
Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights
Complete assessment and clinical formulation of patients’ problem behaviours and treatment needs
Provide evidence based individual and group treatment programmes to address or reduce the negative impact of difficulties
Evaluate the effectiveness of individual and group treatment programmes
Direct and support others to carryout evidence-based clinical psychology interventions
Take personal responsibility for ensuring that appropriate security procedures are adhered to at all times and that risks are continuously assessed and managed
Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors and carers
What you'll have:
The successful candidate will have a wide-ranging knowledge of specialist neuropsychological assessment and the treatment of adults presenting with complex, acquired neurological disorders, in particular those with cognitive, psychological, and emotional impairments, which prevent them from achieving independent functioning in daily living. In addition, you will have extensive experience of delivering individual therapy, and helping non-psychology team members work with people who have experienced an acquired brain injury, coupled with good team and leadership skills.
We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability Confident committed employer.
