Job overview

Senior Behaviour Analysts are specialist community practitioners working in the Complex Needs Service. The Complex Needs Service works with children and adults with learning disabilities and exceptionally challenging behaviour across North Wales. The CNS uses the model of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to conduct behavioural assessments to determine the underlying functions of challenging behaviour.

Main duties of the job

Senior Behaviour Analysts work as link practitioners into the Community Learning Disability Teams in adult and children's services and hold a clinical case list. They perform a number of tasks to increase the effectiveness of services for people with learning disabilities and behaviour that challenges. The role of the Behaviour Analyst is to support the community placements of people who display challenging behaviour through:

a) The early identification and prevention of challenging behaviour,

b) The prevention and management of crises related to challenging behaviour,

c) Providing technical support to work effectively with challenging behaviour,

d) Designing and developing community placements for people who present with challenging behaviour.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
