The Research Development and Delivery Manager is an exciting position who will have accountability for the delivery and operational management of a busy team within the R&D directorate
We are keen to hear from applicants with management experience who have experience of working within the healthcare research setting in the NHS/HEI/Commercial sector. The post holder will be expected to manage a portfolio of work, often autonomously, interacting both internally and externally to enhance research at ESTH
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead a team responsible for the development and delivery clinical research across ESTH , providing comprehensive support across the organisation. The post holder will be expected to:
provide leadership and accountability for the safe, effective and efficient operational delivery of services within research. develop and oversee systems to ensure research compliance of Trust wide research activity including research conducted where the Trust acts as sponsor. manage and support the delivery performance standards for the Trust, including administration of performance management and monitoring, ensuring the development of systems and processes to ensure the achievement of key national and financial targets. Manage and lead the administrative / operational team responsible for study set up develop robust and sustainable business cases working with finance and performance partners. increase and enhance research at ESTH represent the dept at relevant meetingsPlease see attached the job description for more details on the main responsibilities for this role.

Experience
Essential
Previous experience of supporting research Previous experience of research systems including (but not limited to) IRAS, EDGE etc. Experience of performance management across a large field or a large organisation Experience of managing stakeholder groups
Desirable
Experiencing of managing/ supporting clinical trials Experience of working with national/regional organisations Experience of running training sessions for staff, including developing training materials and delivering presentations Experience of NHS R&D finance tools (iCT, SoECAT etc)
Knowledge
Essential
Good knowledge of current NHS/NIHR research priorities and structures Experience of management in a clinical research environment (NHS , HEI or Industry) Understanding of current NHS R&D practices and processes Knowledge of clinical research set up and delivery guidelines and legislation
Desirable
Understanding of research funding within the healthcare sector
Skills
Essential
Project management skills, experience of planning and managing projects Negotiation skills and experience of negotiating with external bodies to achieve organisational objectives
Qualifications and Training

A first degree or equivalent qualification/ experience.
