About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse needs and abilities? Are you ready to embark on a rewarding journey in education? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant (Secondary) to join our dynamic secondary schools in Gateshead.
Job summary:
- Assist students with SEND in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
- Monitor and record the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant staff.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support and assistance to students with special educational needs and disabilities, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to implement individualized learning plans and accommodations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
- Help students develop essential skills, confidence, and independence in academic and social settings.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reporting to relevant persons as needed.
.Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities in primary settings.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education, teaching assistance, or related fields desirable.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Dedication to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
