Job overview

The post holder will support the trained nurse and other health care professionals in the delivery of the highest standard of patient focused care.

Improve the Quality of the fundamental aspects of Health and Social Care for people who are acutely or chronically ill, frail or disabled.

All HCSW posts will be recruited on the basis that they will complete Level NVQ within months of appointment. It is a requirement of the individual that they must have completed an NVQ to the required level before a permanent support workers post will be offered by the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

To undertake delegated duties related to patient care that contributes to the ongoing support of patients. To include escorting patients to various destinations unsupervised. Occasionally with the use of wheelchairs

Perform patient observations: temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, blood glucose and urinalysis following a period of on-job instruction and training. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
