Job summary

This is a temporary chef role at Barchester Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in the UK with over 224 homes and hospitals. The role offers hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks, with the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal food and deliver person-centred hospitality to residents.

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus while working with residents to tailor menus around their preferences. You will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, working within budget, completing regular audits, and managing stock control. The role also involves leading and motivating a team in a warm and efficient environment.

Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent Experience in helping lead and inspire a team A good understanding of nutrition Experience of working with fresh seasonal food The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home Good understanding of HACCP

Qualifications

Essential

A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents, City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent, experience in helping lead and inspire a team, a good understanding of nutrition and experience of working with fresh seasonal food, the ability to create a warm and welcoming environment, and a good understanding of HACCP.
