The role will also includecross-county responsibilities taking forward the clinical leadership of the pathway, alongside PrincipalPsychological Therapy colleagues in the other two localities. There may also beopportunities for professionalleadership of our strong and growing group of Family and SystemicPsychotherapist across CFHD alongside your 8b colleague.

Main duties of the job

As a Principal Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and Clinical Lead,you will work jointly with Operational and Psychiatry Leads in your Pathway, and provide professional leadership and lead contributions to servicedevelopments across CFHD. Family and Systemic Psychotherapy is highly regardedin CFHD and we are excited to bring an additional lead colleague into theservice.

You will bring advanced clinical skills to offer complex assessment,formulation, intervention and consultation. You will bring strong clinicalsupervision skills and leadership capabilities that enable you to support colleaguesas well as lead strategic development work. You will have proven experienceworking positively with inter-agency colleagues. You will have ahave a vision for high quality clinical services and be able to enhance theskills and practice of those around you.

There will be CPD opportunities specific to your pathway and to furtherprogress your leadership capabilities.

There is a strong and friendly network of Family and SystemicPsychotherapists in CFHD and across Devon, enjoying shared CPD and professionalsupport. We also have excellent links with the University of Exeter who offer a range of systemic courses. We havebeen a CYP-IAPT provider for many years.

Children and Family Health Devon(CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improvehealth outcomes for children and young people in Devon.

CFHD provides integrated care andtreatment for children and young people across physical and mental health whichare provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon PartnershipTrust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure wedeliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of ourservices, based on the i-Thrive Framework.

CFHD works closely with our localuniversities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where wesupport students in clinical training placements and in addition support ourown staff to undertake post graduate training.

Our integrated care and treatmenthas been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people andtheir families/carers.

In the Mood, Emotions and Relationships Pathway Family andSystemic Psychotherapists work within a strong multi-disciplinary team,providing assessments and therapy to children with complex and enduring mentalhealth concerns such as depression, anxiety-based disorders and Trauma. Themulti-disciplinary teams are diverse including; Systemic Psychotherapists,Clinical Psychologists, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists,Psychiatrists, Speech and Language Therapists and Mental Health Practitioners froma range of backgrounds including Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work andCreative Therapies. This offers the opportunity for rich and nourishing sharedclinical thinking and support

You will be a qualified and registered Family and SystemicPsychotherapist with notable post-qualifying experience, passion and strengthsfor working with children, young people and their families. You will havestrong clinical leadership skills, bringing a compassionate framework to joinothers in leading forward this pathway.

You would work with children, young people and families tounderstand their experiences and presenting concerns in order to provide anappropriate evidence-based intervention. You would provide consultation tomulti-disciplinary colleagues and work closely with inter-agency partners asrequired.

You would provide supervision to Family and SystemicPsychotherapists and other colleagues as appropriate as well as further supportthe development of others through training. There will also be the opportunityto engage with, and lead, areas of service development and research as well aswider activities to support developing leadership skills.

You will be committed to service user participation andcollaborative working with children, young people, parents, carers andfamilies. You will have a good understanding of safeguarding across thelifespan.

You will be a reflective practitioner with strengths tobring to a multi-disciplinary team. You will have advanced skills and knowledgeto support the development of others through supervision, consultation andtraining.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Masters level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy Active registration with the UKCP as a Systemic and Family Therapist Post qualification training in supervision. Post qualification specialist therapy/assessment training relevant to children and young people Post qualification training or proven equivalent experience in leadership or management

Desirable

Specialist post-qualification training to Doctorate level, or Professional Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy

Experience of delivering effective evidence-based, outcomes-informed psychological therapy interventions with children, young people and families, including risk assessment and risk management Experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers, including shared decision making and the use of both clinician and patient rated outcome measures Experience of working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary services and across organisational boundaries Experience of working with a wide variety of child mental health problems, across the whole age range, reflecting all levels of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems Experience of obtaining service user feedback and data to improve outcomes and services Experience in teaching, training and assessing in clinical practice. Experience of safeguarding children and ensuring the safety of young people in partnership with other agencies as appropriate. Experience of using an equality and diversity framework in clinical, supervisory and leadership practice Experience of initiating, chairing, attending and contributing to multi-professional and inter-agency meetings. Experience of working as an autonomous individual, taking on responsibility, making decisions and seeking support as needed. Experience of providing clinical supervision, undertaking appraisals, developing job plans, recruitment, managing performance, absence and staff development. Working knowledge of the provision of healthcare for children, young people and families within the NHS and the complex multi-agency systems which provide for the health, education and social care needs for children and young people High level knowledge of mental health presentations in children and adolescents, underpinned by knowledge of child development, and the theory and practice of short term and long term, evidence-based, clinical psychological therapy interventions.
