What you'll be doing

  • Working nights as part of a small team producing welded steel cages for dayshift to cast concrete piles.
  • Operating an automated welding machine to produce cages of various lengths and sizes and preparing moulds ready to be cast with concrete.
  • Be Health and Safety conscious and aware of any impact your actions may be having on the environment.
  • Work as part of a small flexible team, primarily producing steel wire cages for precast piles but to also occasionally undertake other functions and responsibilities that meet the needs of department.
  • Meet production targets set daily to ensure processes run without any unplanned downtime and efficiently.
  • Keeping records of shift performance and downtime.
  • Be reliable, dependable and a good timekeeper.
  • Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard.

Who we're looking for (person specification)

  • Basic numeracy and literacy
  • Previous experience of a production environment.
  • Previous use of overhead cranes, forklift and/or any welding experience
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to work flexibly to support the overall aims of the team and changing priorities.
  • Personable good communicator who is a team player and gets on well with others.
  • Eligible to work and live in the UK.
