Cleveland Clinic London invites applications for a prestigious International Orthopaedic Fellowship, providing a comprehensive and immersive experience in the fields of hip and knee arthroplasty, soft tissue hip and knee surgery, lower limb osteotomy, and trauma. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside leading experts in the field and gain exposure to a diverse range of orthopaedic cases. The Fellowship is specifically designed for a Senior Trainee who has already resolved to specialise in hip and knee surgery. The post holder will gain clinical and operative skills under the direct supervision of the …ten… orthopaedic consultants who stand at the forefront of their field within the Hip and Knee Teams. 

Clinical Exposure:

Participate in arthroplasty, soft tissue knee and hip surgery, osteotomy, and trauma procedures, ranging from simple to complex cases. Attend outpatient clinics to encounter a wide variety of clinical presentations and enhance diagnostic and treatment algorithms.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

Engage with the multidisciplinary team to foster collaboration and holistic patient care. Contribute to interdisciplinary discussions and decision-making processes.

Teaching and Mentorship:

Teach and mentor junior members of staff, sharing knowledge and expertise. Contribute to educational initiatives within the orthopaedic department.

Observership at Cleveland Clinic, US:

Avail the opportunity to visit Cleveland Clinic in the United States for a dedicated observership experience.

Professional Development:

Receive funding to attend relevant courses, conferences, and workshops that contribute to personal and professional growth. Stay updated on the latest advancements in orthopaedic surgery and related specialties.

Post CCT Fellow in Orthopaedics - Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

Medical Qualifications:

MB ChB, MBBS or equivalent FRCS Orth or equivalent CCT in Orthopaedics and Trauma or equivalent. Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and license to practice in the UK.

Clinical Expertise:

Completion of registrar training and awarded CCT

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Teamwork:

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

Research and Teaching:

Track record of engagement in clinical research activities in orthopaedics. Willingness and ability to contribute to teaching and training programs for junior staff Understanding of audit and research principles

Commitment to Quality and Patient Safety:

Commitment to providing high-quality patient care with a focus on patient safety. Understanding and adherence to clinical governance and quality improvement principles.

Adaptability:

Subspecialty Fellowship:

Completion of a subspecialty fellowship in arthroplasty Demonstrate proficiency in performing arthroplasty surgery.

Innovation and Research Contributions:

Published research articles in reputable orthopaedic journals. Podium presentations Poster Presentations Involvement in innovative practices or technologies within the field. Other degrees e.g. BSc, Masters, PhD (or equivalent)
