About the role

Based in the Queen Square Library, you will provide a high level of customer service and user support to staff and students in Queen Square. Duties will include staffing the Library service desk, dealing with Library and Archive enquiries, inducting new users, and assisting with Library administration and collection management.

The post provides an excellent opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience in a specialist library and archives environment.

This is an on-site role, and as such, is not suitable for remote working.

About you

You will have five A*- C GSCEs (or equivalent), experience of working in a library, and sound knowledge of library procedures, including Library management systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure and act on your own initiative are essential to this role. You will need excellent IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Experience of Archives enquiry work is desirable.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
