We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Technologist / Engineer with a physics background, to join our dynamic team. As a Manufacturing Technologist at Oxford Instruments, you will play a crucial role in the production and assembly of cutting-edge technology solutions. The person in this role will be responsible for:

Acting as an Operation’s based technological specialist. Developing effective internal relationships across all functions, including Product Development, Marketing, Operations and Sales. Owning and developing performance measures of the business’ specialist product components with the ability to regularly feedback to suppliers. Contribute to the introduction, development, and testing of new & existing products for SEM and TEM applications. Acting as a first and second tier production line support function to ensure a quality product is delivered to schedule. Assisting in the creation and maintenance of manufacturing shop floor documentation for new and existing processes in alignment with company standards including work instructions and other quality system documents. Completion of Test and process verification to ensure the current processes and products meet the company standards. Monitoring and Developing solutions to prevent “field and internal failures” caused by both internal and external processing methods. Ensuring New Product Introductions (NPI) & Engineering change are implemented effectively and both product & processes are productionised and repeatable. Innovating and offering potential manufacturing/supply methods to be more suited to an operational excellence focused environment whilst maintaining product standards.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

Minimum of a Science or Engineering degree involving any of these areas:

Electron Microscopes / Electron Microanalysis Materials Analysis / Metallurgy Vacuum Technology Semi-Conductors Physics Knowledge of Mechanical Assemblies, X-ray detection, vacuum systems, or Electron Microscopy. Understand and use of Statistical methods to make evidence-based decisions. Experience with Structured Root Cause analysis tools (Desirable) Basic knowledge of design processes (DFx), new product introduction and product lifecycle management. (Desirable) Knowledge of Programming Suites (Desirable)
