We’re looking for a Nights Transport Planner to work Monday to Friday (2000-0600). This is for our shared user network based in Leigh – you’ll be planning specialist loads and palletised deliveries for the following day shift.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other benefits.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Day-to-day you will be to looking to produce an efficient routes for multiple depots and maintain excellent levels of customer service
  • We’ll need you to have accurate management of scheduling and company costings with the objective of minimising operational costs and optimising efficiency – we’re always looking to improve
  • You will ensure that all traffic planning activity is undertaken in line with legislative requirements and ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety requirements, highlighting any concerns to line management – ask us about our ‘Road to Zero’
  • Are you an ‘out-the-box’ thinker? We need you to be proactive in identifying and resolving any potential routing issues before they occur – can you find creative solutions for complex problems?

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

 

  • If you have a background in general haulage or share user pallet networks this would be highly beneficial
  • Great communication skills, you’ll be cooperating with stakeholders throughout the network
  • Previous planning experience is essential for this role
