EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull
Start Date: Immediately
Salary: £75 – £95 per day

GSL Education Hull and East Riding are working in close partnership with Special Educational Needs client schools based in Hull, supporting their interim and short-term staffing requirements. As such, we are seeking EYFS specialist Teaching Assistants to support the development and learning of young people.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant with GSL Education, you will:

  • Promote hands-on learning using play-based learning.
  • Encourage speech, language and communication development through PECs and Makaton.
  • Adapt your teaching and learning style to suit the individual needs of children you are supporting.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants to create a stimulating environment.
  • Liaise with outside agencies and other professionals, such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.

As the ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Hold a relevant qualification at Level 2 or above, such as EYFS Teaching Assistant Diploma, Nursery Nurse qualification, Level 2 NVQ in Childcare, CACHE Level 2 or similar.
  • Have at least 6 months experience in a school, nursery, or other educational institution.
  • Understand the importance of education in early childhood.
  • Have a general understanding of the early years foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes, such as Phonics, PECs, or Makaton.
  • Be self-motivated and work well within a team.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
