Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings; out in the community, in our acute hospitals or within our Theatres teams to name just a few.

Band 3 Haemodialysis Unit/Renal Daycase Wonford Site.

Are you a Healthcare Support Worker looking for an opportunity to develop your Haemodialysis clinical skills, role and knowledge?

We are a forward-thinking Haemodialysis unit providing lifesaving treatment for kidney patients Monday to Saturday with a separate Renal Daycase Unit providing 8 rooms and procedure room.

We have a dedicated Clinical Practice Facilitator who will teach you haemodialysis in a supernumerary capacity in a well-established training programme. The Nurses in the Renal Daycase Unit will teach you on a competency based programme.

This Band 3 post will provide opportunities to learn a diverse range of skills while working in the acute haemodialysis setting, the post holder will also work closely with the haemodialysis nursing team and other members of the Renal multidisciplinary team, this position also involves rotation to our renal day case unit and inpatient nephrology ward so there is the opportunity to learn many new skills and gain extensive renal experience.

Within our wider renal service, we have a wide range of Nurse led specialist services for transplantation, vascular access, anaemia and community roles and are continuously developing the roles our Nursing team undertake.

We are always engaged in audit and research to ensure that we are delivering excellent, evidence-based care.

A driving licence and access to a car is desirable as our units are in Exeter, Torbay and Honiton and on occasions you may be required to work there to provide staff cover.

Working Pattern: hours per week. We care for our patients around the clock so we will need you to work a range of shift patterns. These range from short shifts, day shifts between : and : and hour day and night shifts with an hour break in the ward areas. Please do check this at your interview.

Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
