Community Engagement Lead

About the Role
As our next Community Engagement Lead you will play a key part in supporting the Society’s ambition to be a top-tier purpose-driven organisation. You will engage with colleagues in the branch and agency retail network, as well as head office functions, to inspire them to take part in meaningful activities in communities where they live and work.
You’ll be a subject matter expert on the community activities available, including volunteering, the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation and meaningful partnerships with Citizens Advice and FareShare, among others.
As well as increasing colleague participation, your role will make use of various communication channels that focus on raising awareness of the programmes available, both internally across the business and externally to members and non-members.
As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable digesting multiple data sources and translating them into key messages and communications for different audiences, understanding the importance of timely messaging delivered through appropriate channels of choice. You will drive positive stories, source case studies and think creatively to find compelling ways to demonstrate the impact the programmes have on communities.
This role is part of the Social Purpose and Sustainability team which oversees the Society’s ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) strategy and manages all Community activities across the Society. At all times you will represent the team professionally, building new and strengthening existing relationships with colleagues at all levels across the Society.
About you
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills whilst having the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This is in addition to having:
Previous experience co-ordinating campaigns, engaging stakeholders and increasing participation, Excellent stakeholder management skills Ability to adapt to varying situations and think quickly Brilliant communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to inspire people to get involved Excellent organisational abilities with capacity to work on multiple activities simultaneously Ability to manage, analyse and interpret data to communicate to varying audiencesAbout us
