Are you a data-driven and adaptable professional with excellent communication and top-notch Excel skills? We are seeking a committed Post Tracking Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring young people are actively engaged in education, employment, and training (EET).

Wandsworth Council has a statutory duty to track young people upon completing compulsory age schooling to establish their EET status between the ages of - to ensure there is provision for them. Working as part of a small and established team, you will have the opportunity to directly support the work of Children’s Services.

About the role:

Engage with stakeholders: use various communication methods to establish young people’s EET status and identify those needing support.

Relationship building: communicate with schools, colleges, training providers, and support services to enhance accessibility for young people in EET.

Identify NEET Risks: through effective data handling and tracking, ensure young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) are identified and reported to ensure they receive the necessary support.

Maintain records: keep accurate and up to date records of young people’s participation in EET or NEET and upload data to our database to enhance our tracking processes in accordance with data protection guidelines and DfE reporting cycles. 

Provide guidance and support vulnerable youth: provide as required, information, advice, and guidance (IAG) on post EET pathways to NEET young people (and other stakeholders) and signpost or refer them to relevant services. Reporting to the Post Participation Manager, you will provide updates on targets and perform other duties as required.

Essential Qualification, Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of the raising the participation Age legislation and Local Authorities' statutory duties relating to this. To have a clear understanding of safeguarding and protecting young people from risk and harm. Knowledge and understanding of the problems and difficulties faced by young people who are NEET. The ability to help vulnerable young people to find practical strategies for improving and sustaining their engagement in learning or training. Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive, professional and sustainable relationships with all stakeholders. Good self-organisation, intermediate use of Excel and ability to work under pressure both independently and as part of a team. You will receive training as required and identified mutually by you and your manager.
