We are seeking a proactive and creative Colleague Communications Officer to join our team. This role is integral to enhancing our internal and customer communications, fostering a culture of engagement and high performance.

Primary Job Purpose:

As the Colleague Communications Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of effective communications for colleagues and, where appropriate, customers. Your role includes developing content and channels, ensuring high-quality delivery, and monitoring the impact of communications. You will handle all weekly, monthly, and annual communications through various mediums, including written, digital, Teams calls, and in-person meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Communications: Deliver both planned and unplanned internal communications, including the design, creation, and monitoring of feedback and impact. Event Coordination: Support the organization and execution of events, such as annual kick-off events and ad-hoc gatherings, working with external suppliers to ensure smooth operations. All Colleague Calls: Plan and support regular “All Colleague Calls,” coordinating content with functional leads to maintain a consistent voice, facilitate sessions, and follow up on questions. Content Management: Manage weekly and monthly communication channels, ensuring engaging, informative, and consistently toned content. Intranet Support: Maintain and develop content for the Your McCarthy Stone intranet, ensuring it is a valuable resource for colleagues. Recognition Programs: Lead colleague recognition and engagement initiatives, championing the Values award and customer compliments processes. Manager Support: Advise and support managers in creating and reviewing content and communication methods for various announcements.

Other Responsibilities:

Comply fully with McCarthy Stone’s policies and procedures. Engage and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Undertake additional duties as required for smooth business operations.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others affected by your work. Act in accordance with Company Health and Safety policies, using equipment safely and appropriately, and report any health and safety issues to your Line Manager.

Person Specification:

Knowledge & Experience:

Experience in Internal Communications, Corporate Communications, media, or PR within a people-centric organization. Proven ability to create impactful content for diverse communication channels. Skilled in writing and developing key messages for a varied and dispersed workforce, with strong experience in drafting change management communications. Strong track record in delivering transformational communications activities in a similar, people-focused organization.

Skills and Competencies:

Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with excellent English proficiency. Highly organized, able to deliver high-quality work on time. Self-motivated and proactive, capable of maximizing the impact of communications. Creative problem-solver with innovative ideas for enhancing communication. Able to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure. Continuously seeks to improve internal communications. Able to manage competing priorities and meet challenging targets and deadlines. Discreet and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
