Due to company expansion 2024 is an excitingyear for OCU Group. We have an opportunity for a ProcurementOfficer to join our team in Taunton.

TheProcurement Officer will be responsible for Procurement Teammanagement managing the procurement process to ensure theacquisition of goods and services required for the organisationsoperations. This role involves sourcing suppliers negotiatingcontracts and monitoring procurement activities to achieve costsavings quality standards and compliance with regulatoryrequirements.

Duties andResponsibilities:

Sourcingand SupplierManagement:

  • Identifypotential suppliers through market research networking andsoliciting bids.
  • Evaluate suppliers based onfactors such as price quality reliability and deliverytime.
  • Negotiate contracts terms and conditionswith suppliers to secure favourable terms for theorganisation.
  • Maintain relationships withexisting suppliers and develop new supplier partnerships to enhanceprocurementoptions.

ProcurementProcessManagement:

  • Coordinatethe procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuanceensuring timely delivery of goods andservices.
  • Collaborate withinternal stakeholders to understand procurement needs andrequirements.
  • Prepareraise and review purchase orders contracts and other procurementdocuments for accuracy andcompliance.
  • Monitor day today procurement activities to ensure adherence to budgetaryconstraints procurement policies and regulatorystandards.

CostAnalysis and SavingsInitiatives:

  • Analyseprocurement spend data to identify costsaving opportunities andimprove procurementefficiency.
  • Implementcostsaving initiatives such as bulk purchasing supplierconsolidation and renegotiation ofcontracts.
  • Track andreport on procurement savings achieved through cost reductionmeasures.

SupplierRelationshipManagement:

  • Buildand maintain strong relationships with suppliers to fostercollaboration resolve issues and address performanceconcerns.
  • Conduct supplierperformance evaluations and implement corrective actions asneeded.
  • Manage disputesclaims and contract variations with suppliers in a timely andprofessionalmanner.

Compliance andRiskManagement:

  • Ensurecompliance with procurement policies procedures and regulatoryrequirements.
  • Conduct riskassessments of suppliers and procurement processes to mitigatepotential risks.
  • Monitorsupplier performance against contractual obligations and takeappropriate actions to mitigate risks to theorganisation.

Skillsand Experience:

  • TeamManagement
  • Bachelors degree in BusinessAdministration Supply Chain Management Procurement or relatedfield.
  • Proven experience in procurementpurchasing or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to buildeffective relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities withattention to detail.
  • Proficiency inprocurement software and tools such as ERP systems (ideallyMicrosoft Dynamics 365)
  • Knowledge ofprocurement best practices contract law and regulatoryrequirements.
  • Effective communication andinterpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate withstakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management(e.g. CIPS) is desirable but notessential.
