Autism Support Assistant

Location: Tower Hamlets

Salary: £85 - £100 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full Time/Part Time

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with autism? Join our team as an Autism Support Assistant at our client SEN schools in Tower Hamlets

GSL Education are looking for dedicated individuals who are committed to providing exceptional support to students with autism.

Autism Support Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of students with autism.
  • Implement individualised learning plans and support strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress and behaviour.
  • Support students in developing social skills and managing their emotions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

Autism Support Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Autism Support Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE or NVQ would be ideal but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of autism and strategies to support students with autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
