Job summary

The Walton Centre are currently seeking a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant to assistthe team Occupational Therapists in the assessment of appropriate patients.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities:

If you are successful, you willcontribute to the smooth running of the therapy department which includescaring for equipment, wheelchairs, ordering of stock plus housekeeping andadministration duties.

To assist qualified therapists in theiradministrative duties for the functioning of the therapy department.

To take responsibility for own delegatedclinical caseload.

To undertake assessment relatedactivities and treatment / intervention as required or as directed by qualifiedtherapists

To participate in audit and servicedevelopment.

To work flexibly to meet the needs of theservice.

Job responsibilities

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

Goodliteracy and numeracy skills

Level3 NVQ in a relevant area

Have the ability to undertake training toacquire the skills appropriate for development in the post

Previousexperience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy orphysiotherapy assistant

Experience of working with older people

Physicallyable to perform tasks whilst kneeling, bending and able to handle patients andequipment safely

Valid and current driving license and carto be able to travel to locations throughout
