The team is split into threeareas; Fraud Operations Chargeback Operations and Fraud Systems /Analytics. This role sits within the Fraud Systems / Analytics teamalthough youll be working closely with the wider team as well asother businessareas.

What youlldo:

You will haveaccess to the newest development tools and huge data sets coveringeverything from fraud system transactional data to page clickdata.

  • Be comfortable working on a widevariety of requests across 3 mainareas;
    • Reporting on operational team metrics andperformance
    • Analysing data in order tounderstand root causes of fraud issues articulate the losses andhelp provide justification for systematic fixes in collaborationwith the rest of theteam
  • Work in an ultrafastpaced environment by providing analytical support with theimmediate response to fraud incidents as theyoccur.
  • Be creative and efficient in themodelling approach using rich and largedatasets
  • Employ/automate reporting tools tomeasure and alert of changes in keymetrics
  • Assist with ad hoc queries and provideanalytical support to our fastgrowing business as itevolves.
  • Proactively seek out opportunitieshidden in our or industry data. Articulate your findings intosuggested actions for operations our product and/or otherteams.Who we are lookingfor

General

  • Experience: 2 years experience in an analytical role (ideal backgroundsinclude: a similar Data Analyst role at an online retailer ideallywith experience working with fraud or chargebacksdata)
  • Education:
    • BachelorsDegree in an analytical field (maths economics engineeringstatistics etc.) Masters Degree a plus.
    • Orprofessional experience demonstrating an equal level ofability
  • Proactive notreactive with ability to work independently in a fastpacedenvironment
  • Selfstarter with the ability totake a loosely defined issue ask the right questions explore /investigate data and then turn it into a story / providecontext.
  • Top performer with a proven trackrecord of success.
  • Strong analytical conceptualand problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressureand to tight deadlines.
  • Unwavering attention todetail.
  • You live in cloudbased SQL platformsExcel Tableau and a few other useful tools of the datatrade.
  • A startup mentality roll your sleeves upand get things done.
  • Confident with learningnew tools technologies andmethodologies
Toolknowledge
  • You should be comfortableusing SQL to analyse data from extremely large datasets
    • Joining together different sources ofinformation
    • Deduplicating and standardisingdata to ensure accurate analysis
    • Usingsubqueries to build calculations uponcalculations
    • Creating tables views anduploading data from other sources on an adhocbasis
    • Navigating around performance issues bypaying close attention to table partitioningetc
  • You should be able toread code written by others and be able to provide feedback formaking the query quality better (know bestpractices).
