Join the Close Brothers Credit Risk team where you will work as part of a team of analysts to develop, deliver and monitor credit risk strategies.

Working as part of the Credit Risk team, our ideal team member will have a strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Undertake analysis of Credit acquisition strategy and processes to provide insight and recommendations to Credit management to improve and optimise Credit decisioning strategy
• Set and monitor Motor credit risk performance against agreed plans, targets and budgets and work with the Credit Manager to propose and agree actions required to address any performance issues and/or to capitalise on opportunities
• Develop and present high quality credit risk related MI and insight to Credit management and other major stakeholders to support informed decision making
• Effectively summarise and communicate findings using appropriate written and graphical techniques in Excel and PowerPoint
• Maintain and provide input for relevant Credit Policies to ensure the delivery of business objectives and alignment with Group Credit Risk Standards
• Ensure compliance with prudent underwriting standards and assist Operations to ensure that Motor’s bad debt is managed appropriately, and all processes comply with the regulatory guidance
• Support Business Assurance team to review Quality Assurance checks of the underwriting, credit worthiness & affordability assessment, and decisioning of proposals underwritten within hubs and other CBMF businesses, ensuring Credit Policy is adhered to, and appropriate rationale and justification provided to support the decision

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

• You have a strong analytical mindset to be able to understand and investigate complex issues in a methodical manner
• You have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and also experience of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• You have good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate complex information to management and non-credit colleagues
• You have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, sharing best practices and fostering a positive team spirit
• You have knowledge of data mining techniques to extract, manipulate and interpret large data sets

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

• Have knowledge of Credit acquisition strategy including the setting of credit and affordability strategies, policies, underwriting, bureau data and credit systems
• Have experience of consumer and commercial underwriting, credit bureau data and reports, business accounts etc.
• Have experience using tools such as SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Business Objects or other similar data analytical tools
