The London Borough of Brent is situated in North-West London, with the famous Wembley Stadium at its centre. We have a vacancy based across the borough to cover both Sudbury Primary Care Centre and Willesden Centre for Health and Care. The post is part-time (30 hours) fixed term for one year.

We have a diverse and inclusive team of Community Nursery Nurses, Community Staff Nurses and Health Visitors who work collaboratively with the Trust Safeguarding team and all our families to support the Healthy Child Programme mandated checks. The aim of our Health Visiting multidisciplinary team is to keep our children and their families safe.

The Brent 0-19 service has an exciting Secondment opportunity for a Community Nursery Nurse or registered nurse to join our team as the Infant to School lead, who will work as part of the Health Visiting team coordinating the Infant to school programme to children and their families living in Brent.

Main duties of the job

The Infant2 School Lead Practitioner will support training for new staff into the team on I2S and maintain a strong working relationship with the relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure programme strategies and initiatives are adopted and sustained.

Support the introduction of Infant2School in the Brent Health Visiting Service through training, supervision, and leadership and by ensuring that the outcomes of the Infant2School programme are delivered in accordance with the contact and MECSH licence.

To work with the MECSH Advisors, CSU leadership team and Health Visitor teams to support the Community Nursery Nurses and Health Visitors to effectively implement the Infant 2 School Programme

Job responsibilities

Deliver the Infant to school MECSH programme in line with the healthy child programme and work in partnership with families to develop and agree tailored health plans as required. Utilising specialist skills and knowledge, advise and support individuals and families on evidence-based health care practices The Infant2 School Lead Practitioner will support training for new staff into the team on MECSH and I2S and maintain a strong working relationship with the relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure programme strategies and initiatives are adopted and sustained. The Infant2 School Lead Practitioner will support clinical practices for the Infant2School (I2S) programme within the Health Visiting Service through supervision, reflection, and case review. They will hold a small pro-rated caseload of I2S clients and support the Universal Service delivery.

Degree in Child Care or equivalent or Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife Current NMC registration if registered nurse Evidence of continuing post-graduation education and training Practice assessor/supervisor training or working towards
