About the Job

The IB is transforming how it does technology delivery through the implementation of a new operating model: the Technology Playbook. This position is critical in the implementation, operation and future refinement of the Technology Playbook.

The Head of Digital Portfolio Management is responsible for orchestrating the alignment of strategy, execution, and communication across the Digital Office, and serve as a trusted advisor to the Director of Digital Transformation. Embodying a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and relentless pursuit of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Alignment:  Collaborate closely with Departmental leadership team to translate overarching business objectives into clear and actionable Departmental goals. Lead analysis of key strategic decision, and prepare materials to inform strategic decisions. Conduct regular reviews of the Departments activities to ensure alignment. Support roll-out of Technology Playbook. Manage the Departmental budget on ongoing basis to ensure resources are correctly allocated and deployed efficiently. 

Execution Excellence:  including Portfolio management, Crisis resolution, Risk analysis, QBR Leadership, Capability building. 

Communication: Manage information flow to and from the Director of Digital Transformation, preparing Board and briefing materials. Serve as a primary point of contact for Departmental stakeholders. Develop and implement communication strategiesincluding Org-wide communication. Facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and forums to foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing. 

Leadership: Campion a Departmental culture that is collaborative, respectful, courageous, open, and committed. Build and elevate digital culture and capabilities within the department and wider IB. Present and participate in professional events / conferences / seminars to share learnings about, and build a community / network around, the IB’s Products. Manage a team of employees in the Office of the Director of Digital Transformation and support the recruitment, deployment, retention and development of the team.

About You

Extensive experience in Portfolio Management in a relevant field, including demonstrated team leadership experience Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including Product managers, software developers, instructional designers, educators, and administrators. Experience developing and managing a Departmental budget Experience in presenting at, and participating in, professional events and conferences. Experience in building, managing and coaching a team Understanding of the K-12 education sector globally and the role and market for curriculum’s like the IB Knowledge of trends, technologies, and emerging innovations in educational technology. Basic understanding of software development processes, methodologies, and technologies. Proficiency in Agile project management practices, with focus on Scrum to facilitate product development cycles. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Aptitude for identifying challenges, structuring complexity, generating creative solutions, and making informed decisions to overcome obstacles. Passionate about using technology and digital platforms/tools to improve ways of working on daily basis
