We'd like you to join us as an Assistant Management Accountant in our finance team in Darlington. This role is hybrid, working 3 days in the Darlington office and 2 days at home.

The roles will report into the Management Accountant for your specified division, one within Residential and the other Non-Residential . The Assistant Management Accountant will support the Management Accounts team to deliver the overall accounting and reporting requirements within a specified Division of the Active Care Group.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist in preparing Regional and Divisional P&L and balance sheet amounts to ensure accurately recorded in the month-end accounts on a timely basis, with support from the Management Accountant, in particular:
    • Ensuring that revenue, payroll and cost accrual/prepayment journals are posted accurately and on time
    • Ensuring main trading account bank reconciliations are prepared.
  • Assist in preparing accurate and insightful management accounts with appropriate KPIs; including revenue and margin analysis.
  • Assist in reconciling balance sheet accounts in line with agreed timescales with support from the Management Accountant.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Part qualified or experience in a similar role.
  • Positive enthusiastic approach with a can-do attitude.
  • High level of accuracy and good attention to detail.
  • Strong excel, analysis and presentation skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Sage X3.
  • Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Able to work autonomously and flexibly.
  • Committed to continuous improvement.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working within a finance team.
  • Working towards an accounting qualification.
