Job Summary

You will provide commercial, administrative and data management support to the Contracts and Procurement team and Programme Management Office at the Port of Dover.

Working primarily under the direction of either the Category Manager or Commercial Manager as well as with the wider Procurement and Programme Management team to co-ordinate information and data flow with Project Managers and the wider organisations Stakeholders and the Supply Chain.

The role will include administrative duties to maintain, monitor and co-ordinate a wide range of processes, documents, and internal/external meetings. The post holder will also be responsible for undertaking various system-based processes, procurement and purchasing activities, and assist in the administration of contracts, projects and programme management activities where required to do so.

This position will initially be a fixed term contract for 6 months.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE standard grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Previous development/construction/purchasing related document control and/or commercial administration role
  • Experience with data input/look-up within EPR/Accounting software
  • Track record of working in a similar position pursuing and co-ordinating information between multiple stakeholders to strict deadlines
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge and experience
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of working within a project management team
  • Understanding of either purchasing, project controls or finance systems such as IFS
  • Knowledge of the administrative workings of - NEC Forms of Contract and the utilisation of the various mechanisms and templates within, National Schedule of Rates (desirable)
  • Previous experience of working with project controls and processes, or in a project management or document management role (desirable
