Nottingham, United Kingdom Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts Full time

Job summary

We invite applications for this exciting training opportunity in the management of adult patients with non malignant haematology diagnoses to include haemoglobinopathy and red cell disorders and haemophilia. This full time post offers a 1-year clinical fellowship to join the non malignant haematology team at Nottingham University Hospital Trust from February 2025. We are an enthusiastic and friendly department with extensive experience in the management of haemoglobinopathy and bleeding.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a doctor with UK experience in Haematology at ST level to gain focused experience in the clinical management of haemoglobinopathy and bleeding conditions or for post-CCT trainees who wish to specialise in this field.

NUH is one of the largest acute teaching hospitals in the UK and is host to centres of excellence for clinical research, life sciences and technology. We play a vital role in education and training and as a teaching trust we have a strong relationship with our colleagues at the universities across the East Midlands.

Main duties of the job

Duties will cover all aspects of red cell haematology and bleeding disorders including inpatient and outpatient work, haematology day case, ambulatory red cell exchange, perioperative management and obstetric haematology. The post holder will play an active role in service improvement activity and independent audit as well as clinical work.

There is the further opportunity for focussed training within the wider haemoglobinopathy and haemophilia network depending on the candidate's interests and needs. There is no formal 'on call' commitment but there is opportunity to participate within the Haematology ST on-call rota depending on the preference of the successful candidate.

About us
