Join us as an Apprentice Heating Engineer at Thirteen Group

Role Overview:

We’re looking for brilliant people to join our apprenticeship programme, starting in September.

Our apprenticeship opportunities are open to anyone aged 16 or over. We’d particularly be interested in hearing from females who are looking for a career in a trade.

If you don’t see yourself sitting at a desk, or you enjoy working with your hands, this could be the ideal opportunity for you With a high demand for this skillset you can expect future job security and a stable income, with little to no student debt to pay off.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll receive on the job training and be fully supported to achieve your qualification. You'll initially complete a level 2 qualification in plumbing, then progress on to a level 3 qualification in gas. You'll also be working towards a level 3 qualification in domestic heating. So as an apprentice, you can learn and earn at the same time.

As an Apprentice Heating Engineer, you'll gain experience and qualifications to become a fully qualified gas engineer. You'll learn how to carry out boiler installations, annual servicing and gas repairs on a wide range of domestic gas boilers within our customers’ homes.

You’ll work a fixed shift pattern of 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4pm on Fridays in summer. In the winter, these hours will be 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3.30pm on Fridays.


Eligibility Criteria:

You’ll need to have GCSE grade 4-9 or A*-C in Maths and English Language. You must also be willing and able to travel across the Tees Valley for work and able to travel to Redcar and Cleveland College once a week.

If you already hold a qualification or BTEC in Plumbing and Heating above a Level 1, or are part way through a qualification, we unfortunately won’t be able to consider your application.
